Team Bonding & Morale.
For a sports team to succeed, they need to spend plenty of time with each other. This isn't always easy in a school environment, where other lessons and socialising with friends can get in the way of team bonding, training and playing together. A team that can socialise and have fun together will invariably play better together. A trip away is a vital way for a team to spend much needed time together, especially when there is a focus on the sport itself. It doesn't matter if it's a tour that involves watching sport or playing sport, or whether they are football or cricket tours, the trip is bound to increase team morale.
 Health and fitness.
A schools sports tour will, of course, involve a fair amount of exercise and whilst any children on a sports team will currently already possess good fitness levels, a holiday that is focused on this can only put them in good stead for the future. A wholesome trip with an emphasis on sport is an ideal time to explain the benefits of a healthier lifestyle and the importance of looking after your body.
 Student Confidence.
Many students lack confidence during their school days and being part of a sports team is a great way to build this up. Students who don't also socialise with the group or feel they belong will get an increased sense of belonging and have fun getting to know other team mates better. Hopefully, children will return to school more confident and assertive and their whole school experience will be improved. Tours that have an emphasis on professional coaching will also increase the confidence of students who are worried about their sports performance or skills.
 Fresh Environment.
Getting away from the classroom is a refreshing change for any student, but for some more than others. Whilst some thrive in the classroom, other students will gain a lot from leaning in a new environment and focusing on subjects they really care about, be it football, netball cricket or rugby.
 New Experience.
Some schools sports tours will focus solely on sport, especially dedicated cricket tours or rugby tours, for instance. This will be a whole new experience for many students who are used to learning about a number of subjects in any one week. Other trips will also focus on the communities they visit and touch on topics such as social, cultural and environmental issues.
A school sporting tour offers many advantages to both the student and the team as a whole. For the team, they will gain the opportunity to bond and learn new sporting skills. For the student, they will benefit from increased confidence, a better sense of health and fitness and having enjoyed a new and fresh learning experience.
